Privacy Policy for Huzzah Music Publishing & Free Music Arcade
Effective Date: September 1, 2025
Last Updated: September 24, 2026
Huzzah Music Publishing LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates www.huzzahmusic.com, the Free Huzzah Music Arcade, and related educational resources. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, particularly the students, teachers, and parents who utilize our resources.
This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our website and educational games.
1. Student Information & Adult Inquiries
No Student Information Collection
We strictly do not collect, request, or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from students. Because the Huzzah Music Arcade is designed for educational use by young musicians, our games and activities are built to be entirely anonymous.
- No Accounts Required: Students do not need to create an account, register, or log in to play our games.
- No Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, school affiliations, grades, or locations from students.
- No Chat or Social Features: Our arcade games do not feature chat rooms, messaging systems, or any mechanisms that allow users to share personal information with us or other players. There is no communication, from or to other users, on the platform.
- Microphone Access: Audio processed via the browser for pitch detection is analyzed locally on the device and is never recorded, transmitted, or stored on our servers.
Teacher & Adult Inquiries
We may collect contact details (such as a name and email address) solely when voluntarily submitted by teachers, parents, or adult educators through our inquiry forms to respond to questions or support requests. We do not combine this information with student gameplay or use it for marketing profiling.
2. Information Collected Automatically
While we do not collect personal student data, our website hosting provider gathers standard, anonymous technical information necessary for the website to function properly and securely. This may include:
- Device and Browser Information: such as your browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
- Usage Data: such as pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring websites.
- IP Addresses: collected temporarily by our hosting servers for security purposes (e.g., preventing DDoS attacks).
This data is aggregated, anonymized, and used solely to maintain the performance, security, and functionality of the website. It is never used to identify individual users or track students.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
Strictly Necessary Cookies
Huzzah Music Publishing uses strictly necessary cookies required for the website to function properly. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioral profiling tools. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies, though some parts of the site or arcade may not function properly without them.
Local Browser Storage
We may use local browser storage (such as HTML5 localStorage) solely to store game settings, local high scores, or level progress directly on your device. This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or linked to individual identifiers.
4. Third-Party Services
Huzzah Music Publishing is hosted on and utilizes tools from standard third-party platforms:
- Hosting & Security: Squarespace hosts the website and handles web traffic, security, and backend services for contact forms. These service providers have access to anonymous site data only to perform standard hosting tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with marketing or advertising companies.
- Affiliate Links: Outbound links to Amazon for purchasing books (e.g., BandBridge) use referral tracking, which may allow Amazon to place cookies or track referral sales.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & FERPA Compliance)
We fully support and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Because our service is designed to collect zero personal information from students, it is inherently compliant with these regulations.
If a parent, guardian, or teacher believes a student has somehow submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately, and we will securely delete that information.
6. Security of Your Information
We take the security of our website seriously. We use commercially acceptable means, including secure hosting protocols and SSL encryption, to protect our site and tools. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
